LNAA Police Department donates $1,025 to For Pete’s Sake
(Hanover Township, PA) – It’s typically part of their uniform to keep facial hair well-groomed while they serve and protect at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE).
But, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) Police officers that used a razor in November, broke their own law!
For a second consecutive year, the LNAA Police Department supported the fight against cancer during “No Shave November” raising $1,025 and donating the proceeds to For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation (FPS).
FPS is a non-profit organization that provides adult cancer patients, their caregivers, and their children an opportunity to escape the everyday effects of treatment with an unforgettable respite vacation. For more info, please visit: https://takeabreakfromcancer.org/
“We all know someone that is battling cancer, and giving them the opportunity for some rest and relaxation with their family is the best medicine. The Airport Authority is extremely proud of our police department for always stepping up as a strong community partner which is certainly demonstrated in their commitment ot this initiative.” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northamton Airport Authority
“Thank you to the entire team at the Lehigh North Hampton Airport Authority and Police Department for their tremendous generosity shown in their “No Shave November” event! Know that this contribution will help cancer patients and their loved ones take a break from cancer. We are so grateful to have their support in the Lehigh Valley area, and can’t wait to team up with them again next year,” said Marci Schankweiler, CEO & Founder, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation.
The No-Shave November mission is to not only raise funds for cancer research and treatment but to educate the population about preventative measures and the benefits respite has on a cancer patient’s continuum of care.
