“We prepared for higher passenger volumes and ABE has certainly experienced that rush and steady flow of travelers as predicted by experts in the industry. It’s anticipated this activity will remain seasonally busy through Labor Day weekend. Airport staff have done a remarkable job of delivering the highest level of customer service,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).
By the numbers, Allegiant reported a traffic jump of 9.9%, while United moved up 9.7%. Meanwhile, American remained flat and Delta sharply decreased 25.9% vs. last July.
The Airport advises all passengers departing between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to arrive at least 2 hours before their flight to ensure they reach their gate for on-time boarding.
Travel tips to remember:
“Not giving yourself extra time to park, check-in, process through TSA, and reach your gate could result in missing your flight,” said Stoudt.
